Brass bound, f8 (to 44) lens, sector shutter. Shutter speed range between F-fast & S-slow. Two shutter settings, "Cover" and "Set" via aperture on right side of camera. Distance setting on left (lens can be slid forward/back and locked into position via a brass thumb key/nut under the camera. Leather bound lens cover The camera is beautifully made and is clean and in excellent condition and comes with its original leather case with a side and bottom handle. The stitching to one side of the leather case has come adrift, but it is otherwise complete. Film size is 3 3/4" x 4 3/4". all the brass fittings are in their original laquered state. SOLD |

This is a rare to find mahogany detective-box camera, formerly made by Robinson from 1889, and manufactured between 1896 and 1899 . The camera was made to take rollfilm, and in fact is the first English rollfilm camera made.
